Figuring it out

by Nona on September 14, 2009

I have been blogging for a while now.  Not as a coach but as a long-time meditator and yogini.  Making the switch to blogging about coaching, I have had this feeling that I need to provide readers with concrete steps they can take to make their lives better in a very straighforward way.

Last night, I was reading an amazing blog post by the communicatrix where she talks about how she tells stories to convey a message to her peeps.  Her blog is amazing, and I love her writing.  I almost wept with joy when I read this.  I was thinking, “You mean, I can keep writing stories?  I don’t have to write purely informative posts?”

As someone who might subscribe to this blog, what would you rather have?  My intent is for this blog to be a place where readers can come to relax, get inspired, and  connect with like-minded others - either by relating to my experiences or, through an active discussion in the comments (which I really, really love).  Even better if someone walks away encouraged and ready to change their own life.  Or see what coaching with me is all about.

So, until I hear differently from you, I’m going with stories.  Most everything I know about transforming pain into purpose and deep-down joy was earned (and continues to be learned) through my life.  If you love it, yay!  Please tell me so I can give you exactly what you want!  If you hate it, yay!  Let’s talk and figure out who I know that might have exactly what you are looking for!

You can expect to read what I’m excited about reading and putting to work in my own life these days.  Stories of my fumbling toward the purpose in my own pain and how that can help you with yours.  Gratitude.  Always, always gratitude.  Every Friday.

I would love to hear from you.  Thoughts.  Questions.  Comments.  Anything & everything welcome and appreciated.

Post, twittified:

Be who you are. Set your intention. Do what you love. Ask for what you want. See what happens. Be grateful for everything.

I love the way you tell stories to convey a lesson. Definitely continue!

Hi,
I like the idea of sharing both, informative posts and stories. One thing I’ve learned from reading blogs and writing one is that you have a lot of leeway in what you share with the readers. I think practical stories are sometimes much more inspirational and informative than strictly “informative” posts. We can learn and be inspired at the same time.

Best,
Bob

Bob,
Thank you for reinforcing my core belief!! :) I agree wholeheartedly and those are the kind of blogs I tend to gravitate toward. Thank you for popping over and visiting mine!
