The magic of change, and changing our thoughts

by Everyday Yogini on August 21, 2009

As you all know, I am currently working toward my certification in coaching. Let me just say, right here, how much I LOVE working with Martha Beck and her team of Master Coaches. They are the most amazing bunch, ever. This last weekend, I went to a meet & greet in Phoenix and boy, what a love fest!

So, things have been quiet over here on the Yoga blog, but don’t go away! I intend to keep posting here – not only Yoga-ish things, but also links to my new coaching blog! YAY! It’s up and running, Yoginis! In the last few weeks, I’ve written a few blog posts. One on the magic of change, and another on practical ways to change our thinking and loosen up our tightly held beliefs.

As I am going through this process of defining who my “people” are (like you guys) and how I can best serve, I really, really, really GET that my work as a Yoga teacher absolutely dovetails with my work as a coach. I have found that the only way to get to the root of a challenge is to be relaxed and calm. Whether you practice Yoga or a different mindful art, the fact is that a relaxed body helps to relax the mind. From there, it’s much easier to explore change and move toward the life you really want to be living.

If you are so inclined, I would love it if you signed up for the Insights Newsletter or subscribed to the Insights blog. And, if you haven’t checked it out yet, take a look at my new website.

This quote came across my inbox this morning, and I will close with it:

“Given what is important to me, what am I willing to do and experience to move me in that direction, in this moment?” -Kevin Polk

hi! i thought you might be interested in this from swami radhananda, the director of the yasodhara ashram (where ascent magazine was founded) – she is talking about the power of the mind and how thoughts have a very powerful influence on our lives, how to harness the mind through practice and commitment, and then change occurs…. “start small, keep at it, keep looking for the miracles, keep wanting to find out more, and then it all available”
